Highways to Zion

"Blessed are those whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways to Zion. As they go through the Valley of Baca they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength, each one appears before God in Zion." Psalm 84:5-7

The hope of heaven is our in Jesus. We are 'in the way' in HIM. However, letting that hope 'live' in our hearts is where strength comes from. Letting go of this life and placing all our hope in being with Jesus causes strength and life to flow from within us. Living in the Spirit is how this happens. As we set our lives on the hope of Christ, declaring "Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere" (Psalm 84:10), that life will be released and heaven will come to earth. This world filled with lifelessness without the Spirit of God, the dry valley around us will become full of life. Even in a wilderness God's children flourish. We go from strength to strength as we acknowledge our weakness and need, weakness Jesus sympathises with, and we then draw on His strength which is ours in Christ. "Fix your eyes on things in heaven, not on things of earth. For you have died and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you will appear with Him in glory." Colossians 3:2-4
