You Are Worth More

You are worth more...

You're worth is not in what you look like, not in beauty, aesthetics, your appearance or the shape of your body. You're worth is not based on your gender, the colour of your skin, the neighbourhood you grew up in or your family name. You are worth more than your intellect, education, qualifications, your sporting prowess, more than your success, more than your failures. You are worth more than your job, more than your career, your earnings, position or title. You are worth more than your relationship status, more than how many friends you have, your social influence, how liked you are and by how many people. You are worth more than your reach on social media, more than your online presence. You are worth more than what you own, what car you drive, the size of your house, the balance in your bank account, the phone in your pocket or the size of your TV. You are worth more than how valued you are by others, as a husband, wife, partner, brother or sister, as a father, mother, son or daughter. You are worth more than what you do, more than good deeds and generosity, more than how much you give to charity. You are worth more than your greatest achievements, your highest accomplishments and most courageous endeavours. You're worth is not based on your mistakes, not on how you've failed or how many times, you are not the sum of your actions or behaviour.

Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends...

Your worth is in the blood of Jesus, in every lash across His skin, the crown of thorns that pierced His brow, every blow to his body, every strike of the hammer nailing Him to the cross. You are worth what He was willing to pay, to adopt you as His child, to make you an heir to the kingdom and a citizen of Heaven. You are called friend by the maker and sustainer of the universe. You have been chosen and set apart by God the Father, made in His image and created by Him, a masterpiece reflecting His glory. And you are loved. Loved exactly as you are, loved in all your quirks, imperfections, flaws and failings. Loved in your ups and downs, highs and lows, when you land on your feet and when you fall flat on your face. You are loved consistently, unwaveringly, faithfully and eternally. Your worth is not in what you can give or do, but what has been given and done by Christ. You are worth more, you are worth what He paid.
